February Favorites!

Every month I find products that either almost make it to Holy Grail status or do make it.  This is a few of the ones I was loving for February!

 Tarte Clean Slate Poreless primer
~This stuff is great at minimizing pores and giving foundation staying power.  It has a silicone feel and when applied makes your skin feel incredibly soft.

 Mary Lou Manizer by theBalm
~This is an amazing highlight.  Apply just a little at the high points of the face and you get a glow that is angelic.  Champagne in color, it flatters every skin tone.

 Nars Laguna Bronzer
~ Matte bronzer that works for contouring and just bronzing up the face.  Blends easily and looks natural.  This stuff is one of the only bronzers I have found that doesn't leave my skin looking muddy.

 Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
~ I have been loving this brush for applying my foundation.  Usually I use a Beauty Blender or my Sigma F88, but this is just flawless.  It really melds the products into the skin creating that "airbrushed" look.  MUST HAVE

 Cabana Boy Blush theBalm
~ Just the right amount of berry for a great "flushed" look.  Super pigmented and easy to blend, a little goes a long way.  Plus the packaging is to die for!

 Lorac Pro Pallet
~ Perfect amount of matte and shimmer shades.  I have been obsessed with this using it almost daily.  The shade Nude is the most brilliant shade I have ever used and to be honest if it was the only shade I liked I would buy the pallet for it.  Yes, its that awesome.  These shades are very pigmented and creamy which makes blending so easy.  Plus they are neutral colors meaning they are super versatile.

Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush
~I love my Sigma brushes, and this one got a ton of use this month.  It blends out eyeshadows so flawlessly and gives a really seamless look.  I also used it to blend out the contour on my nose!

So there you have it!  Just a few of my favorites for the month of February.  Let me know what some of your favorites are and if you love any of these products as much as I do!  See ya next month!!

My Go-To Blush

Hello Make-up Lovers!

Today I wanted to tell about my absolute favorite blush. Nars Blush- Orgasm!

This is my favorite out of any other blush I've tried. No matter how much or little you put on it always looks good. It has a hint of gold sparkle to it that fits with the pink hue of the blush perfectly. I have lots of friends in many different skin tones going from pale to extremely tan. I have used this blush on every single one of them and it looked amazing. It didn't look bad on any of them. I would recommend this product to beginners or professionals. This is definitely a blush you want to get and keep handy. Granted it is a little pricey but it lasts a long time I've had mine for 8 months, I use it every day and it looks barely used! You can get it at sephora or online! Let us know your thoughts on it!

Stay Beautiful!

The Right Tools

Hello Ladies!

Before I get started on posting my favorite products and tips and tricks, I wanted to give you the basics of every pretty face! Brushes! Brushes make it so much easier to apply the makeup how you want to plus they make your products last a little longer because you do not use as much using brushes!

Here are a few pics of types of brushes.

The picture above are the ones I own! The first one (starting from the left) is my blush brush which is perfect for adding blush to the cheek bones. The second brush is my powder brush! It picks up both loose and compact powders really well and applies it to my face with out it looking too caked. The third brush (the one in the middle) can be used for contouring if you you do that! I use the fourth brush for my bronzer and the last one for my foundation! When I switched from a sponge to a foundation brush I was amazed how much longer my liquid foundation lasted. I was using half  of what I normally used when using the sponge! I also got more coverage using the brush then i ever did with a sponge.

Here is another photo showing some other brushes that i found on the Internet. Eyeshadow brushes are a must and they help with blending. Concealer brushes help you cover up blemish or any unwanted spots a lot better then using your fingers. I love using the lash and brow brush to help take out clumps in my mascara. I used the comb side to brush through my eyelashes after I have added a few coats of mascara! it makes my eyelashes look amazing and clump free!

This is a lip brush! It is great for putting the lip stains on! I use these brushes instead of the actual applicator that comes with the lip stain or in the compacts. With the brush it is much easier to get the lip stain/color to exactly where you want it and it doesn't add too much like when you use the applicator that comes in the tube! Plus these are longer then the ones that come in the compact so you don't have to hold the brush so close to the the top you can give your self some room.

This is an eyeliner brush! I use a cream eyeliner for my tight lining method (I'll explain that in a later post) it reduces the mess and makes your eyeliner perfect.

This is a smudge brush. When using a eyeliner in the pencil form it is always best to to smudge it a bit after applying. some pencils come with this on the end but I have bought some that do not, so its always nice to have an extra one handy.

And of course your Eyelash curler. It is the perfect tool to give your eyelashes the perfect lift after applying mascara. I would be lost without mine!

You can get brushes just about anywhere, from make up stores on line to you local super center or go-to makeup store. They come in different colors and different styles for the brushes. Along with all the styles they also come in many different prices. The most important thing to look for when brush shopping is to actually look and see what the brush is made out of. Read the reviews and see what other people think about them. There is no perfect place to get brushes they are all different but having them in general are very important to having a pretty face!

More tips and tricks to come from me every Tuesday! Stay Beautiful!

Sweet Southern Beauties

Remember those moments in high school where you and your best friend were constantly pulling out a mirror to touch up your makeup instead of listening to Mr. What'shisface explain some equation you really should have been paying attention to?  I do.  I became makeup and beauty OBSESSED at the tender age of ten.  Rocking the fabulous and ever popular, raccoon eyes and fluorescent lips, I was a total pro, well I thought I was anyways.  As I grew up I realized the genuine artistry behind what makeup really is and can do for a person and fell so in love with it.  Now, a mid 20's mom of three, I feel like I should share with the world how passionate I have become and maybe help someone else see the pure beauty of makeup through product reviews and tutorials.  One thing to remember, makeup can transform your appearance, but in order to be truly beautiful you have to start on the inside.

My love of makeup didn't develop until my late teens and early twenties, mostly because my mom always told me I didn't need it! But since my senior year my curiosity for make up has made leaps and bounds and has now become my favorite hobby! Being a mom of a precious little girl I want to be able to tell my daughter all sorts of things I had to learn the hard way! Seeing as she is my mini me in every way I hope her love of makeup and all things girly will be as great as mine! I'm excited to share what I have learned and what my favorite and least favorite products are to help anybody who is learning or has a passion like I do!

Stay Beautiful!
