Full bodied lips!

Ok so I told a lie..My next post was going to be my birthday haul, but i haven't received everything yet so its gonna have to wait.
In the meantime, I do have a product that I wanna share with ya'll that I did get for my birthday.  Buxom's Full-on Lip Cream in White Russian is an absolute dream in a tube for the lips.  A gorgeous nudey pink color that does have a decent amount of color payoff.  It is a tad sheer but that makes it perfect for layering on top of lipsticks.  Very creamy formula thats not sticky at all and lasts a decent while, for a lipgloss.  It smells like cake batter, and delivers a tingling sensation to the lips (plumping effect).  This lipgloss is a MAJOR win in my book!

CORALista

Happy Spring Break!!!

I was wanting to try some new blushes so I ordered Benefit Cosmetics CORALista blush. Honestly I only ordered it because of the cheetah print packaging (my favorite print)!

Turns out I REALLY REALLY love this blush! I haven't stopped using it since I used the first time! It is a coral pink with lots of shimmer to it! but it goes so nicely with my skin tone and blends well! Plus it matches all my coral lips and eye shades I have! Yes! I may be slightly obsessed with coral make up but its perfect for spring and summer!

Here is a picture I took. You can see the pink and coral hues of it! CORALista also has a nice clean, refreshing smell to it!

I still can't get over the packaging! I LOVE the cheetah print! It makes my morning a little bit better knowing that such a great blush came from me picking my favorite animal print for fun!

I plan on buying the rest of the line of blushes here in a few weeks! Once I do, there will be a post of further details about them! Until then, Stay Beautiful!

MAC Lippies

So I am not only late on getting this up, I am late on being late.  Turning 24 on Sunday sort of threw me for a loop, but Im back to a normal schedule I hope!
Anyways, for my birthday I purchased a few lip products from MAC.  I have wore their Studio Fix Fluid and Pro Longwear concealer for years, but have never ventured to the lip products.  WHAT HAS BEEN WRONG WITH ME????
I ordered Snob, Ravishing and a LipGlass in Nymphette.

Snob is a light neutral pink and has a Satin finish.  The satin finish is still moisturizing, without compromising opacity.  Goes on like a dream, very creamy and doesn't streak or bleed.
Snob (Satin)

Ravishing is a clean light peachy coral and is a Cremesheen finish.  Once again, the color payoff is amazing.  This one is a little more sheer than Snob, but is totally build able.

Ravishing (Cremesheen)
Nymphette is a sunny golden pink, frosted lip glass.  Now the color of this is stunning, very subtle golden sheen to it makes it great for topping off just about any lipstick.  However, the consistency is tacky.  Not something that would phase most people, it is a deal breaker for me.  I will continue to use this one, but will most likely not purchase anymore LipGlasses.

Nymphette LipGlass (Frost)
With that being said, I fell so hard for the lipsticks that I went back and ordered 4 more.  Angel, Creme Cup, Honey Love and Sophisto.  Cant wait to get these in and see if I love them just as much!

Better Than Sex????

She said what?!?!  Haha!  No for real, I have recently discovered the most amazing mascara I have ever used, Too Faced Better Than Sex.  Let me just start by saying wholly molly this stuff is phenomenal.  Not only is the brush pure perfection (hourglass shape, natural-esque bristles) the formulation is from the heavens.  It applies seamlessly from the first coat to the fourth coat.  >yes I wear four coats of mascara<.  It separates the lashes and doesn't leave the clumpy and it gives the most amazing length and definition I have ever seen.  Doesn't smudge onto the lash lines or run and comes off easily without pulling out your eyelashes!  This is a product that has made HG status after a handful of uses and I recommend anyone who wears mascara to pick this baby up!
Look at those gorgeous lashes!!!

Product Shoutout!

Hello Makeup Lovers!

Today I'm going to have to do a product shoutout on a few products I have discovered over the last week! These products are absolutely amazing and I never would have guessed how awesome they were before I used them!

First I want to share an amazing mousse eyeshadow! Its e.l.f. Studio Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow! At first I was skeptical because I have tried cream eyeshadows before and I have found that they tend to go on really clumpy and are hard to blend and work with! NOT e.l.f. version! it is a mousse gel eyeshadow.

It goes on really smoothly and is very easy to blend and work with! Best part of all is it lasts ALL day without smudging or creasing or anything!

I would recommend this to anybody! It is very affordable and is of amazing quality!!

This product is easy to work with and when you go to blend it doesn't lose its pigment or sparkle!

This photo was taken 11 to 12 hours after I applied the product! it literally looked like I had just put it on!

My other product I want to rave about today is MAC lipstick in Costa Chic! this color is a gorgeous pink! it guides on smoothly! has an amazing frost finish! I am in LOVE with this color! It is the perfect pink lip!

This is going to be one of my go to lipsticks for a pink lip! And being a MAC lipstick they tend to last longer then most!

So here are a few products that I thought needed to be recognized for their awesomeness!

The Biggest SECRET About Wearing Makeup

Hello Ladies!

So recently I have been wearing lots of bold bright red and coral lipsticks! And more then anything I've heard people saying how it looks so good on me and that they could NEVER pull it off. I want to share the biggest secret in wearing makeup. You have to be confident in yourself!! Yes I know some shades look better on certain skin tones but if your not confident about yourself you will never think a bold lipstick looks good!

I understand being afraid to try new things! I have been there! I tried so many different types of make up styles and ways of application. The best thing for anybody who is learning wants to learn or is having trouble is to go get a make over! Seriously go to your local mall or department store and have one of the make up ladies completely give you a makeover! Most at your major department or make up stores have trained professionals!

Before you start the makeover ask them to tell you step by step what they are doing so you can repeat the look by yourself (this does take practice!) Also ask the to match you to some eyeshadows and a variety of lip colors!

Makeup is an Art! so it does take practice! Nobody is perfect there first time! and even the major professionals still make booboos here and there. I suggest when you want to go for a certain look for a date or whatever the occasion do a few dry runs first! Make sure you have the look down before your big day, because nothing is more frustrating trying to get a new make up look perfect being limited for time before a big occasion. When I first start trying new looks it may take me up to two hours to get it just right the first time but once I know what I need to do it is simple and easy from there!

So remember Ladies!!! CONFIDENCE is the key to great makeup and feeling Beautiful!

Spring and Summer color- Coral

Ok Makeup lovers, I can not wait for summer! It is my favorite time of year! Going to the lake, the  beach, going on vacation or just our capital to go shopping! And of course during the spring and summer I get to wear my most favorite shades ever- CORAL!!! I absolutely love coral colors! I have so many eyeshadows, lip glosses, lipsticks, and blushes (which I'm out at the moment, waiting on a order)! So today I'm going to show you some of my favorite coral looks!

Ok as always we start with a fresh face! I always wipe my face with a clean washcloth before I apply make up!

Then use ur primer, foundation, concealer (if needed), and powder! I use EyesLipsFace (ELF) mineral primer in clear, ELF studio foundation in porcelain, and ELF Studio HD powder in translucent. I have used another HD powder and foundation and have spent big bucks on them before. I have found ELF is just as good but a quarter of the price for those watching there wallet!

Next I added a light pink blush. It was ELF Baked blush. Normally I would use a coral but I'm out at the moment

Okay now for the eyes!

I started out with too faced shadow insurance eye primer! Then a sparkly beige color and I applied it from right under my brow to the crease in my eyelid! I used one of too faced summer colors! It is first color in the last row of the pallet.  (see below)

The color is very very shimmery and has a slight gold tint to it! I use this color quite often over most of my colors! it adds a gorgeous sparkle to anything without changing the color!

Next we add the coral! I picked a coral shade from BH Cosmetics! Mostly because I just received them yesterday and I hadn't had a chance to try them out yet! BH cosmetics eye colors tend to have really good pigmentation and last all day when paired with a good primer! I used the warm matte 2 (BHWM2) color if you want the exact! I apply it from the crease of my eyelid all the way to my eyelashes. make sure you  bring the color all the way down to your lashes it helps the eyeliner stand out!

Next I add a darker brown to the crease of my eyes! I blend it starting from the outside of my eye and going 3/4 of the way into the inside of my eye. I also blend it into the complete corner of my eye and about 1/4 of the way down on my lash line. I chose a brown with some shimmer to add a little shimmer closer to the bottom of my eye! Any like color would work but for exact I used BH cosmetic in cool shimmer 1 (BHCS1).

Lastly we add our liner and mascara! I was feeling festive today so I decided to do a winged look. These colors also look good without it and just a simple outline of the eye. I like to use ELF cream eyeliner in black for the top and the wing and ELF Studio Kohl liner in black for the bottom! Don't forget to smudge the bottom!

Then I coat my eyelashes with ELF 3 in 1 mascara and go on top of that with Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiply Volume mascara! And don't forget to curl those lashes!!

Now the lips! I absolutely love lipstick! It can change a simple makeup look into something completely different! Since I'm going to use a coral lipstick i outlined my lips with a coral liner! I do not have a favorite lip liner! I have many and they all seem to work the same! As long as the color matches you are good to go! After lining your lips make sure to smudge a bit!

After that you add your lipstick maybe a bit of gloss depending on the lipstick and your all done! I used BH Cosmetics Coral Escape Creme Luxe Lipstick!

I also added a bit of NYX butter gloss in Apple Strudel over the lipstick! Be careful when mixing lipsticks with glosses always want to use a brush that way the lipstick doesn't get into the tube of gloss!

There we are the finished look!!

I want to note that coral colors are great for people who have brownish green eyes like mine! They really bring out the green and make the color pop! Hope y'all enjoyed the tutorial! Follow us on twitter and subscribe! Keep a look out for our next post on Friday!

The Power of Makeup

I am a bonafide believer in the power of makeup to help women ( and some men ) boost their inner beauty as well as their outer beauty.  When you look better on the outside, you feel better on the inside which in turn makes you look better on the outside.  Its a never ending cycle.  Its not some impossible quadratic equation to know that the better you feel about yourself the more positive you are and the more likely you are to pursue your dreams and ambitions.  Here is a quick "before and after" of me pre and post makeup application.  Now, while I don't rely on makeup to make me feel beautiful, I can say it doesn't hurt!

An Everyday Look!

Ok! I admit It Ladies, some mornings I just don't have a lot of time to spend on my make up! Either because I woke up late, spent too much time on my hair or I'm just too tired. When this happens I put my go to face on! Its simple, quick and gets the job done! It looks fresh and I know it will look good all day!

So Basically what I do is still start with my primer and then add my foundation.

Then I us my HD Translucent powder and cover my whole face.

To get the slight pink look to my cheeks I use a blush that is pink with gold sparkle to it. Nars-Orgasm is what I use but I know e.l.f. and other companies have products that are almost the same as the Nars color!

Now the important part, putting on your eyeshadow. I always start with primer! Too faced has a really decent eye primer and so does Clinique (they have one that is all shimmery) But today I used e.l.f. mineral eye primer. it has a really nice texture to it, and goes on very easily.

I tend to go for the shimmery eyeshadows because I like the sparkle. But you simply sweep a very light pink or tan from your eyebrow to your crease.

Then you take a darker shade and pat it onto your eyelid from the corner almost to the very outer edge. If you pat it on instead of sweeping it on the pigment and the color tends to show more!

Lastly take a very dark shade and blend it into your crease and outside corners of your eyes! Then add some eyeliner and mascara, and a nice shade of lipstick/gloss and your good to go!

I love this look! Its very natural but still very very very beautiful! The shimmery eyeshadows make your eyes pop and if you use the right color they can make your eye color look astounding. If you want to dress it up a bit more wear a bolder lip color like a bright red or coral! But otherwise a light shade of pink or nude color with a dab of gloss on the lower lip then smudged completes the look perfectly!

Stay Beautiful!
